Dear Colleague

In the past decade, numerous advances in transplant medicine have allowed patients to live longer as well as live better with their new organs. However, infectious complications continue to be a major concern following organ transplantation, causing significant morbidity and mortality. Furthermore, in addition to the common infections that affect transplant patients, emerging pathogens and problems include the threat of influenza pandemics, new and emerging fungal infections, and bacterial resistance to antibiotics.

The 3rd International Transplant Infectious Disease Conference is being held in collaboration with The Transplantation Society (TTS) and the European Society for Organ Transplantation (ESOT). The conference will consist of a series of plenary sessions and will provide an opportunity for delegates to discuss and debate key topics, including: herpesvirus and hepatitis infections, BK virus and BK nephropathy, new and emerging fungal and bacterial pathogens, pandemic influenza, and the research agenda for the next 5-10 years.

We look forward to your participation at the 3rd International Transplant Infectious Disease Conference on 29-30 September 2007, Prague, Czech Republic.
