Antiviral Chemistry & Chemotherapy is an online journal that publishes the results of original research concerned with the biochemistry, mode of action, chemistry, pharmacology and virology of antiviral compounds. Manuscripts dealing with molecular biology, animal models and vaccines are welcome.

The journal also publishes reviews, pointers, short communications and correspondence. 

Antiviral Chemistry & Chemotherapy is an official journal of the International Society of Antiviral Research.

Recently published

Phosphonate-containing drugs could be useful for treating a range of viral infections. However, their oral administration is hampered by deprotonation at physiological pH levels. Pertusati et al. review acyclic and cyclic nucleoside phosphonate prodrugs, designed to enhance systemic absorption and delivery, and which offer exciting future prospects for antiviral treatment.
